An interesting fact is that on either side of this hill are two different districts: Idukki and Kottayam. If you carefully observe, the demarcation is marked on the utmost top of the hill with a symbol. It is windy, sunny, cloudy all at the same time. The weather changes every 5 minutes. If you feel it’s too sunny and take out your umbrella, the next moment it turns dark as though there will be a downpour.
When you stand at the topmost peak, gazing down and enjoying the nature’s beauty, the amazing wind hits your face, and you are sure to feel butterflies in your stomach. Kurushmala
As you get down the hill, you can see a big white cross there. It is because of this cross that the place gets its name. The name Kurushumala translates to “Mountain of the Cross.” This cross, towering above the landscape, serves as a landmark and spiritual symbol for visitors.
